Need a spirit of trust and adventure?

“… for you do not know which will prosper, this or that, or whether both alike will be good … rejoice in them all” (Ecclesiastes 11: 7-8).  Life involves risk and opportunity.  Investments could bring profit, clouds could bring rain, but those who wait for the highest prices or the best weather to sell or plant, they will not profit.  There are no guarantees – life can be uncertain, yet we cannot watch it go by … so says the wise Solomon.  It is the same with one’s spiritual life: waiting for the best time of day to read The Bible or pray, searching for the perfect church, failing to become involved can often convey a life without worship, holy community, or service to others.  Rejoice in everything and everyday and everyone … live with God.  Live like that, and nothing will be uncertain.
